This is a drop-in replacement extractor for the Springfield Armory Hellcat, machined from a single billet of heat-treated stainless steel. It solves the common issue of inconsistent ejection or failure to extract by using a custom hook geometry that maintains positive case-head control through the entire cycle. The Melonite finish increases surface hardness and reduces friction over the factory MIM part.

Requires punch set, small hammer, and a #0 or #1 flathead screwdriver. Must remove firing pin and channel liner to access extractor pin. Retaining pin is staked from factory—expect to replace it. Spring and extractor plunger not included; reuse existing or order separately.

FAQ

Will this fix ejection pattern issues?

If your Hellcat is throwing brass erratically (3–8 o’clock spread) or failing to extract with factory ammo, this extractor often corrects the timing. It does not address weak magazine springs or dirty chamber issues.

Do I need to file or stone the hook?

No. The hook geometry is pre-cut and tested. If your slide channel is within SAAMI spec, it drops in. If you have a tight aftermarket slide, you may need to polish the extractor channel—not the hook face.

Does this include the extractor spring?

No. It is the extractor body only. You will need the factory spring and plunger. If your existing spring has more than 5,000 rounds, replace it simultaneously.
