Frequently Asked Questions

Will this barrel work with my factory M&P slide without modifications?

No. The barrel hood requires fitting to the slide breech face, and the locking block engagement surfaces must be fitted to the frame. A factory slide will not close on an unfitted barrel. This is a true gunsmith-fit barrel, not a drop-in.

Can I use this as a caliber conversion barrel for my .40 M&P?

Yes. Fitting this 9mm barrel into a .40 or .357 M&P/M2.0 allows 9mm use. You must use a 9mm magazine. A gap will appear on either side of the barrel hood in the .40/.357 slide – this is normal. Apex recommends conversion use for training/practice only, not for carry.

What do I need to do about the Loaded Chamber Indicator?

This barrel is not compatible with the factory LCI. You must either remove the LCI entirely or install an Apex No Profile LCI Block. The barrel will not function with the factory LCI tab in place.
