Install Difficulty

Level 2/5 — Basic disassembly of the slide required. Tools needed: punch (1/16” or 1.5mm), small hammer or nylon mallet, and slave pin (or a paperclip) for extractor plunger retention. Approx. 10–15 minutes for someone familiar with M&P slide takedown. Armorer’s manual recommended if you’ve never removed an M&P extractor.

Does this indicator show a red ring or painted marking when the chamber is loaded?

No. This is a tactile-only indicator. There is no paint, lettering, or colored insert. Chamber status is confirmed by feel — a raised bump protrudes from the rear of the extractor when a round is chambered. It is designed specifically for shooters who find the factory painted LCI distracting in the sight picture.

Will this work with my M&P 2.0?

Yes, on most standard M&P 2.0 models (full-size, compact, Shield). Does not fit M&P 2.0 Compact Optics Ready (CORE) slides or Performance Center models with the slide-cut LCI window. Check your extractor cut before ordering — if your factory LCI has a visible screw or roll pin, this part will not fit.
