Install Difficulty
Level 2 of 5. Requires detail strip of the slide to remove the factory LCI spring and plunger. Tools needed: punch set, small hammer, slave pin or dental pick for spring retention. Allow 15–20 minutes if you’ve done slide work before.
FAQ
Will this affect the gun’s ability to show a loaded chamber?
Yes – that’s the point. This block removes the visual loaded chamber indicator. You must rely on the extractor or a press check to confirm chamber status.
Does this work on non-state-compliant Shield models?
No. Only SD and Shield pistols that shipped with the pop-up LCI have the necessary slide cut. Standard M&P pistols without LCI do not require this block.
Does this include the roll pin or spring?
This is the block only. You reuse the factory roll pin (or purchase a new one – 2mm x 12mm) and discard the LCI spring and plunger.
