Tools needed: Punch set (1/16″ and 3/32″), small hammer, slave pins or small Allen keys for sear housing reassembly, tweezers, bench block. Requires disassembly of the trigger housing and striker block assembly. Prior experience with SDVE/Sigma internal work recommended. Full take-down of the fire control unit is needed – not a field-strip-level install.

Will this kit work in my SD9VE without other modifications?

Yes. This is a direct drop-in spring set. It requires no fitting, filing, or aftermarket connector. Install as-is into a factory SD9VE, SD40VE, or Sigma frame.

Does this kit reduce the trigger pull below safe carry weight?

No. The ~2 lb. reduction brings the pull to approximately 5.5–6 lbs., which remains suitable for defensive carry. The kit is designed to maintain reliable primer ignition while improving feel.

Do I need to replace the trigger itself when installing this kit?

No. This kit uses the factory trigger shoe and bar. It replaces only the springs inside the sear housing and striker block. If you also want a shorter reach or reduced overtravel, consider pairing this kit with a flat-faced trigger shoe (sold separately).
