4″ Pillar File – #2 Fine Cut, Single-Cut Serrations
A 4″ pillar file with #2 fine single-cut serrations. Designed for controlled material removal in tight spaces, this file features smooth edges on the narrow faces to provide safe, non-cutting contact when working close to corners. Only the wide faces cut, reducing the risk of accidental gouging on adjacent surfaces. Suitable for deburring, fitting, and finishing work on polymer or metal components.
Compatibility
- Springfield SA-35 (all variants)
- Compatible with any aftermarket magwell, grip panel, or trigger guard requiring minor fitting or edge cleanup
- General-use file for polymer, aluminum, or steel parts
Key Features
- Single-cut serrations (#2 fine) – aggressive enough for material removal, fine enough for finish work
- Smooth narrow faces – safe edges prevent marking or cutting adjacent surfaces
- 4″ length – compact for use in trigger wells, magwell channels, and grip frame recesses
- Uncoated steel – can be cleaned with a file card or solvent
Install Difficulty
1/5 – No fitting required. Use with a file card, light oil, and steady hand. No specialized tools needed beyond the file itself.
FAQ
Can this file be used on stainless steel?
Yes, but expect slower cutting than on aluminum or polymer. The #2 fine cut works best for light deburring and edge breaking on stainless. For heavy material removal, step up to a coarser cut file.
What does “safe edge” mean on a pillar file?
The narrow faces are ground smooth and will not cut. This lets you file into a corner without damaging the adjacent surface. The wide faces do the cutting.
Will this file fit inside an SA-35 magwell?
Yes. At 4″ length and approximately 6mm width, it fits standard magwell channels and trigger guard slots. Use the smooth edges to avoid marring the frame.
