Barrel Milling Fixture for M&P Barrels

$45.00

This machining fixture is intended for use by Gunsmiths and Armorers who plan to fit barrels into M&P and M&P M2.0 pistols using a milling machine.
This fixture is only intended for use while cutting the barrel hood length.  To fit the Bottom Fitting Pad, we recommend the barrel be placed atop a set

SKU: APX-C-104-003 Category:

This barrel milling fixture is a dedicated jig for gunsmiths and armorers fitting barrels into M&P and M&P M2.0 pistols using a milling machine. It solves the problem of securely holding the barrel in a vertical orientation to precisely cut the barrel hood length to match the host slide. The fixture is not intended for fitting the bottom pad; that operation requires the barrel to be placed on parallels in a vise with the top flat against the parallels and the vise jaws holding the barrel walls. For manual barrel fitting without a mill, use the Barrel Fitting Fixture or Barrel Fitting File.

Compatibility

  • Smith & Wesson M&P Classic (all generations)
  • Smith & Wesson M&P M2.0 (all sub-variants)
  • Not compatible with Shield, Shield Plus, or Compact models with non-standard hood lengths
  • Not for use with aftermarket slides requiring different hood dimensions

Key Features

  • Securely holds barrel in vertical position for accurate hood-length machining
  • All necessary mounting hardware included
  • Brass bolt prevents barrel damage during clamping (do not substitute steel or stainless bolts)
  • Machined from billet aluminum for rigidity and repeatability
  • Compact footprint fits standard mill vises

Install Difficulty: 4/5

Tools required: Milling machine, appropriate end mill, calipers or micrometer, barrel fitting file (for final fit), vise. This is a gunsmith-level operation. The fixture is for use with a mill only—not for manual hand filing.

FAQ

Does this fixture work for both M&P and M&P M2.0 barrels?

Yes. It is designed to securely hold both Classic M&P and M&P M2.0 barrel profiles.

Can I use a steel bolt instead of the brass one?

No. The brass bolt is specified to prevent marring or deformation of the barrel. Steel or stainless bolts can damage the barrel surface and affect fitment.

Will this fixture help me fit the barrel’s bottom pad?

No. This fixture is intended only for cutting the barrel hood length. For the bottom fitting pad, you must place the barrel on parallels in a vise with the top flat against the parallels and the vise jaws holding the barrel walls.
