Disassembly Fixture for FN 509/FNS-C

$25.00

Working on an FN 509? Then this is likely the most valuable tool you could add to your workbench. The Apex FN Disassembly Fixture is designed to properly hold the FN 509, or FNS Compact, pistol frame to locate a pin punch for removal of the unlocking block pin, which is the most difficult part of th

SKU: APX-C-104-130-C Category:

This disassembly fixture is a dedicated armorer’s tool for the FN 509 and FNS Compact frames. Its sole purpose is to hold the pistol frame in a stable, repeatable position so you can align a pin punch squarely with the unlocking block pin — the single most difficult pin to remove during disassembly. Without it, the frame tends to shift under hammer impact, leading to stripped pin heads, marred frames, and wasted time. This fixture eliminates that variable by locking the frame and indexing the punch.

Compatibility

  • FN 509 (all variants: standard, compact, LS Edge, MRD, Tactical)
  • FN FNS Compact
  • Does NOT fit FN FNS full-size or FNX series

Key Features

  • Machined steel construction — 100% made in USA (Phoenix, AZ)
  • Precision alignment channel forces punch to strike unlocking block pin dead-center
  • Compact footprint — stores easily in tool bag or bench drawer
  • Designed for repeated use on solid support surfaces only

Install Difficulty

1/5 — No assembly required. Place fixture on a solid surface (vise anvil, concrete floor, or workbench positioned directly over a table leg). Insert frame, align punch, drive pin. Tools needed: 3/32” or 2.5mm pin punch, hammer (brass or steel).

FAQ

Will this fit an FN FNS full-size?

No. This fixture is machined specifically for the FN 509 and FNS Compact frames. The FNS full-size uses a different frame geometry and unlocking block pin location.

Can I use this on a kitchen counter or table?

No. The fixture must be placed on a solid, non-resonant surface — a vise anvil, concrete floor, or workbench leg. Kitchen tables, countertops, and hollow-core desks will flex and absorb impact, preventing the pin from driving out and risking frame damage.

What if my unlocking block pin is already damaged?

If the front face of the pin is peened over or mushroomed, this fixture will not correct the problem. You must dress the pin face flat with a file or stone before attempting removal, or the punch will slip and further damage the frame. This fixture does not guarantee prevention of frame damage in all cases.
