The Colt M5 Carbine Sentry is a 5.56 NATO semi-automatic rifle built on Colt's redesigned upper and lower receivers. Its 16.1-inch steel barrel has a 1:7 twist, and the rifle holds 30 rounds plus one in the chamber. It weighs 6.8 pounds and measures 32.05 inches overall. The threaded barrel, flip-up front and rear sights and collapsible synthetic stock complete the configuration. The listing describes the flip-up sights as a durable backup sighting system.

Ambidextrous controls and the safety selector let the rifle run from either shoulder. The rigid upper and Picatinny rail give a stable base for optics and accessories, and the free-float M-LOK handguard adds mounting space. The carbine-length direct-impingement gas system suits training, competition and general-purpose rifle work, and it ships with one magazine.
