Overview

This drop-in hammer and sear set replaces the factory components in CZ Shadow-series pistols to reduce trigger weight and eliminate stacking in the double-action stroke. The matched engagement surfaces are cut to produce a clean single-action break without creep, while the double-action pull becomes smooth and linear. No polishing or stoning of the sear or hammer faces is required — the geometry is finished from the manufacturer.

Straightforward for anyone comfortable detail-stripping a CZ frame. The sear may require minor fitting of the thumb safety leg for proper engagement. Tools needed: roll pin punches, hammer, non-marring bench block, 3/32” and 1/8” punches, small flathead screwdriver, and a vise or third hand for hammer pin installation. Allow 30–60 minutes.

FAQ

Will this work with an aftermarket trigger shoe?

Yes — this kit replaces only the hammer and sear. It is compatible with most CZ Shadow aftermarket flat or curved trigger shoes, provided the trigger bar geometry remains stock.

Why can’t I use a lighter firing pin spring with this kit?

The manufacturer specifically recommends against it. Using a lighter firing pin spring or an aftermarket firing pin may cause primer ignition inconsistencies or safety issues. The factory spring maintains proper primer strike energy and positive firing pin return.

Does this include the mainspring and springs shown in the photo?

Yes — the kit includes the Medium and Light mainsprings. The trigger return spring and firing pin spring are not included and should remain factory parts.
